This sturdy polytunnel is made by the same British company that
manufactures much larger units for professional growers and will last for
many years. It's a practical and economical alternative to a greenhouse
and can be used to raise bumper crops of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers,
etc. As well as for sowing and hardening off other plants for the garden.
Erect it in your vegetable plot and you can also raise extra early crops
of potatoes, beans and other vegetables - weeks before outdoor plantings
are ready! It's also ideal for early soft fruit such as juicy strawberries
and raspberries.
We've put one up on our trial grounds and found the
comprehensive instructions easy to follow. With help from a friend and a
few household DIY tools you can expect to erect the tunnel in a day or
less.
Dimensions: 2.44m (8') wide x 3.05m (10') long x 2m (6')
high door opening which allows easy access and
ventilation.
Hoops: The hoops, corner stabilisers, foundation
tubes and central ridge are manufactured from high tensile Z35 galvanised
steel tube 25.4mm diameter. These are driven into the ground for
additional fixing.
Cover: Heavyweight 720 gauge (180 micron)
UVI stabilised polythene cover. The cover is to be fitted into a trench
to allow fixing of the polytunnel to the ground.
Anti Hot Spot
Tape: Long lasting self-adhesive tape helps prolong the life of the
cover. Just add it to the hoops before covering to provide an insulated
layer between the steel and polythene.
